Laws of Life – 6

Laws of Life – 6

Mar 04, 2010

Last Thursday Pastor Ashish gave us a powerful insight about the Kingdom of God. Reminding us about developing our relationship with God, he explained that information is not good enough to believe. There is a requirement to come beyond the point of just information, into a level of intimacy and trust.

When would the Kingdom of God come? the Pharisees questioned Jesus. It does not come by observation, neither does it come by following rules or performing rituals. It is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost which is meant to be within us, in its fullness. The Kingdom of God is advancing, but there is violence against this Kingdom which is in us. Jesus said, the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy. The thief who is our enemy from the kingdom of darkness, is not bothered about our job, money, health, etc., His main intention is to steal, kill and destroy our right standing with God, our joy and peace. If we allow the enemy to rob our peace and joy it can effect us and we may end up taking wrong decisions and sin against God.

We are to understand the enemy’s plans, which is to make us come to a point of not trusting God. There are different level of attacks by the enemy. The first level of attack is to steal, and that which is stolen can be restored. But the next level is to kill and destroy. This is something which is humanly impossible to repair or restore. It is in our control whether we allow the enemy of our soul to do this to us or not. But thank God, we do have hope if we realize our mistake and turn to Jesus. He is the only one who can restore no matter even if certain things are dead and destroyed. But there is something we need to do. We cannot be passive! We need to be violent and do what it takes to get back what the enemy has taken. If it is stolen, get it back; if it is dead, made alive; if destroyed, restored! Remember, this can be accomplished not by observation, but by SPIRITUAL VIOLENCE!

On Friday, we had another awesome time of worship and Pastor Ashish taught us more about the importance of being desperate and violent in taking what belongs to us in the Kingdom of God. This world can offer pleasures which may give joy to a certain extent, but it is limited, Pastor explained. It doesn't solve the real issues in life. What Christ cangive us cannot be compared to anything else. In times of difficulties the enemy intends to steal our joy. He comes to destroy our peace and joy and make us sin against God. But Jesus is the ‘Destroyer of the destroyer’. What else do we need? when Jesus, to whom nothing is impossible, is on our side. Don’t miss out. Do all that it takes to have victory. The children of Israel, while in captivity, did not realize the need to rejoice in the Lord their God who had promised to bring them out of captivity, if they obeyed Him. The prophets of God understood that, and led God’s people accordingly. Let us restrain ourselves from succumbing to lies of the enemy, but instead obey and trust God. Let us get out of the crying mentality and instead wait in faith for the fulfillment of God’s promises. Let us renew our minds. Even as we correct ourselves and be obedient and keep our souls from becoming arrogant, the promises of God shall come to pass and will not tarry. Let us choose to worship our God with passion just like Paul and Silas even at severe and adverse situations. The victory is ours, and God’s Word will prevail.
